Thank you to all the people who have written me emails asking about why I have not updated this blog. Well, I returned from Iraq last August and gave up the blog for too long. Be ready for a few recommendations come September and be ready for a few each month! If you have any stocks you would like to suggest anytime, shoot me an email and I will check it out and measure its potential to double. Thank you again to the few people who still check back every now and then.

Also, if anyone has a story of any stock that I’ve picked that has helped you, or not worked so well, send me an email…same with investment engines, is there one that you would like to share with others that is a great way to personally manage an investment portfolio?

Entercom Communications Corp. is my new pick this week, changing up the health care sector for radio broadcasting.

I’ll get straight to the point, we are coming upon a darker age, as far as news, advertisement, and entertainment is concerned, or at least how you receive it. More and more companies are starting to charge for web content viewing. It is hard to imagine, that just having to pay for your internet isn’t enough, think again. Just because its hard to swallow or imagine, doesn’t mean you have to sit back and just watch those companies make all the profits. Why not corner the market now? New York Times announced last week they are going to start to charge for accessing their website. Within the next year, major changes are going to happen, will your portfolio have the right stocks to take advantage of this unfortunate situation?

With the way things are going, ETM is set for success. They have been around since 1968, and have had plenty of experience dealing with the fluctuation of the stock market. So far, they have 110 radio stations, and growing. Here are a few things that I looked at this company that helped me stay positive after I checked out some of their financial reports. After taking in the losses that the whole market took, and then you top that with the sector, this company did pretty good. sitting at $2.29ps, this stock should be valued at somewhere between $18- $20 a share. Yahoo has it’s estimate at $6ps. I think, that with how the market is eventually going to recover, and the fact that the current CEO is getting old, 77 to be exact. No offense Mr. Field, but once you retire or move on, some younger talent, hopefully someone in their mid fifties, will square this company away with some innovative tricks. The market is changing, and ETM will be in a great position to turn some profits, which, I speculate, could put the share price around $4-$5in 6-8 months, and I think yahoo.finance analysts low balled this company, closer to $8 ps in a year.

This article was pretty cut and dry, but all I can say is, when you start getting charged measly little subscription fees for every kind of media and information on the web and radio, you’ll have wished you had a piece of the action!

Why has cancer been so accepted in the average person’s perspective, as something that happens to you, and you can fight it, but eventually, it will get you?

Why do some people win and others lose, people that have years left with their grandchildren? There has to be something done about the fact that, each year, 8,600 patients are EXPECTED to die from melanoma! Expected, how ugly is that? There has to be something done, and this company here is making breakthrough’s that will not only change the way cancer will be treated, but also generate you some great returns if you invest now!

PVCT.OB

This company is developing a drug, currently called PV-10 that works in a totally different way than any other treatment out there. Most treatments involve hitting or frying the cells with dangerous waves or chemicals that have a burning affect It’s pretty efficient at killing the cancer, but unfortunately, also the the important ones that are keeping you alive. They have been established since 2002, and are covering ground quickly, as bio medicine trials are concerned, with great results that continue to come in as they jump through the hoops to get the approval of the FDA.

PV-10 is different, it basically is injected into a known cancer cells, going in, detecting the bad stuff, and starves it to death. Thus, the cell shrinks until it goes away, giving you the same effect as if you had to go in there and cut away the melanoma instead. Well, if you did that, it would just grow sometime down the line and pop up somewhere else. That is why PV-10 is the best treatment there is! There is no cutting involved, and it has a high rate in patients so far to not only kill the injected cells, but any cancer cells that are linked together. This is what is called the “bystander affect” and has been one of the most ground breaking qualities of PV-10, which is what sets it apart from others.

SEE IT IN ACTION!

Also, i’ll have to mention the other product that is seeing alot of light lately, but usually on the back burner as the news is concerned. That is PVCT.OB’s drug labeled PH-10. It is a dermatological disease fighter,( aka, skin diseases), such as, atopic dermatitis, a chronic skin condition that includes some forms of eczema. The latest news for the trials are, 20 subjects have been acquired to participate in a four week trial applying PH-10 weekly. So far, data on the reactions and improvements have been pretty promising, most noticing itching reduced, and little side effects. Even though, there was improvement documented, it will take months for them to confirm the samples taken each week. Once this product rolls into review from the FDA, you’d better hope you heeded my advice and owned a part of this company.

So here are the financial facts you need to know. This company is not going to run out of money during its trials which is a big fear when investing in bio pharmaceuticals. PVCT.OB has strong money management tools in place, which have been referenced in every conference call to insure the investors that they are always considering the financial aspect, and trying to stay within budget. It was mentioned in one conference call, they can make it to 2012 financially, which is the long shot for all of their products to be patented, licenced, and marketed. The stock dipped down to $0.99 ps today, very good price to get into this stock. As long as your in before it hits $2 a share, you will most likely double your investment sometime between the fourth quarter of this year, and the beginning of the second quarter of next year. Yahoo.finance has them down for $3.75 ps in a year, I say that’s pretty close to right on, considering their debt and some products will still be in the patent and registering period.

Pinnacle Airlines Corp.

Most people recognize the big companies in the airline business, alaska, southwestern, and american to name a few. Because of the weak economy, most of these airlines took dives with the lack of financial confidence in consumers to take vacations and travel. During these tough times for most of these big players, there’s a small one making big waves that should not be overlooked. Big profits are waiting to be made with this company.

This company operates under the radar, but is continuing to grow, even in this bad economy. They have been around for twenty four years, and currently expanding. This economy has forced big name airliners to park planes in deserts and initiate pay cuts and lay offs. Here are some comparisons that make me think that this stock is severely undervalued.

Alaska/ Horizon Airlines- $20.69ps, 12,403 employees, 128 jets, 41 turboprop planes

Pinnacle Airlines Corp.- $2.80ps, 4,045 employees, 145 jets, 53 turboprop planes

This company is outsourced through Delta, Continental, United Air Lines, Inc., and US Airways Group, delivering 1100 daily departures with visions set on expanding. I say buy now, if your willing to wait at least 9 months to a year to see any major improvement. Yahoo analysts say $8.67ps, as their one year estimate. I say, the low ball is about $7ps, because of the great balance sheet, even after the acquisition, still in the green. I can’t say how high it can go, but, I would not be surprised to see it rise to $10ps, in early 2010.

If you like health care stocks as much as I do, then I got a great one for you! There’s always a need for the latest and greatest in health care products. Americans especially wont settle for last years drug, they have the latest and greatest mentality. If you want to benefit from this then open the door for this company to soar like a javelin missile to the top!

Javelin Pharmaceuticals, Inc.

First off, the new health care reform could potentially put this company a step ahead just for the sole fact that, there might be a little insider trading, in bed I may add. Its just a crazy coincidence, but one of the senators heading up the new health care bill’s wife, just happens to sit on four company health care boards, this being one of them. Now I’m not suggesting that the bill will directly benefit this company initially, but I can almost guarantee its not going to be going down to say the least. The stock is sitting at $1.60 ps, with yahoo.finance analysts predicting $4.17 ps in a year. Hmm, sounds pretty good, so i check up on their financial skills, and what do I find? A great sheet full of very low debt, low overhead and a drug in the third trial stage. For those of you who wonder what that means, that refers to the trials a drug has to record, then report the data to the FDA, to obtain patents and market their product. This company is based off pain meds, which, I can just pull some stuff out of the air that makes sense. I speculate, seeing that the average American is probably feeling the housing market crunch, recession, and now the auto industry fall out, they are starting to rely more on themselves for yard work, auto repair, and house maintenance. Also, pulling extra shifts can wear on the body, this all adds up to the constant need for new drugs. The things I mentioned don’t directly apply to this company seeing as the drug that is finishing up its successful trial is used for patients after surgery, replacing morphine and other drugs with side effects that are either unhealthy, or addictive.

Finishing up this recommendation, I would predict this company to at least hit $4 ps, and actually think the yahoo.finance analysts low balled this company, it will easily double and move higher. Low debt and low overhead is what this company is about, due to good management. M. Driscoll, CEO, has over 26 years of experience in the bio pharmaceutical field, and has been known for his performance in the marketing and sales aspect of the industry.

Share Builder

This site is great all around, because of its different investment level tiers. What really caught my attention was the simplicity. If you are interested in starting an investment account, and either want to just try it out, or want to contribute regularly, this site is perfect.

Here are the Pros:

No minimum investment to lure you to get better rates. They are flat $4 trades, that are scheduled so you can’t play the day trading game, but if you want to contribute regularly into stocks, IRA, or mutual fund, this is the way to go. I also like how they have low fees, especially related to insufficient funds, I assume due to the fact that your withdrawls are most likely automatic. The fee is only $5, while at most banks and other investment engines are $25 ballpark and up. If you are interested in investing regularly, they have subscriptions that are paid monthly, but really, are nothing to run from. They sort of pay for themselves if you already have automatic payments going out.

Here is a scenario for thier subscriptions that make them seem more friendly:

Say you want to contribute only once a week, that adds up to, $16 a month (4 weeks). That is without subsciption, but if you were subscribing to thier standard program, its only $12 a month and you get up to 6 free automatic trades ($2 every trade thereafter.) Not a bad gig I say, you save $4 a month, and achieve the same amount of orders. There is also the advantage subscription, but I don’t know too many people who would use the 20 free automatic trades a month. It is still a great bargain at $20 a month and comes with a few added research tools and reports.

The cons:

If you don’t want to contribute steadily, then this might not be your best bet. The subscriptions can add up, especially if your trying to execute real time trades and options, which is still a bargain at $9.95 a trade.

To sum it up, I give this one a 10/10, based off fees, rates, user friendliness, and orange gives off a great vibe.

ETRADE

From my personal experience, being a customer since 2005, I have found etrade to not be a good investing engine for small time investors, or individuals that do not want to place many trades.

The facts: Fees, fees, fees- your looking at a $40 service fee per quarter, if you don’t have $20,ooo total between your ETRADE account balance, and your linked external account balance, have $2000 in an ETRADE securities account, place a trade each quarter, which is, $11.95 per trade last time I checked.

To sum it up, I am pretty fed up with the fees. I kept my trading up for a while, but when the markets go down, and you end up having to sit on a few investments, your burning the candle at both ends between the fees, and your investments loosing value. This company is great for avid traders, or people with strong portfolios, so if your just trying to learn the basics and frugal with investing, this company is not for you!

If you are interested in ETRADE, and can meet the downfalls I mentioned earlier, here are a few good things:

The site is really easy to navigate, with a layout a caveman can understand. Trading is really easy, giving you the option to place your own criteria, up to 60 days, on things like, stop, limit, and market orders.

All in all, my personal rating would be a 8 out of 10, easy to use, but the fees add up quick.

US Geothermal Inc.

This stock is going places, started in 2002, based out of Idaho, specializing in acquiring geothermal sites in Nevada, hot springs in Oregon, and has an interest in a 3.6 megawatt power plant. Its current price is around, $1.50 ps, which is a little high, because of its lack of income, loosing a little over 5 million last year, which, for a small company isn’t that bad, considering it has low overhead, 28 employees, and almost all of its debt and liabilities are investments. As the energy sector, and stock market as a whole starts to make a steady comeback, this stock will be up in the front for profits. I am predicting that this company will expand, and by the end of the year, should be above $2 ps, inching towards $3, the goal of my research, doubling your money!

CTIC

Why I like it:

The current price is hot ($1.38 ps), this company is set up for success. They are based out of Seattle, have been in the bio-pharmaceutical industry since 1991. This is exactly the kind company I look for, they are established out of that usual 5 year fail window for most businesses. Also, their debt improved between the 2007 and 2008 financial reports. That’s a good indicator that a company can manage their assets to liabilities well, while surviving in the current market.

Here are the facts:

Trial Information This link is an excerpt straight from the companies website . Basically it sums up they are requesting priority review on June 22nd, which can take months, sometimes longer, but I speculate this stock will pop in the 4th quarter. At the end of the 3rd quarter reports, they may seem misleading, and cause you to flinch or hold back, but the end of the year report is where the big actions at.

My personal recommendation is BUY, at least 1000 shares. You shouldn’t be disappointed and my personal goal is to double my money on each investment I either make, or post. This one here though, could go pretty big, as the analysts on yahoo.finance predict the one year share price to be $50.00. Please do not take that too seriously, as that is just because in this industry, it is hard to tell how contracts, patents, and all sorts of legal issues will pan out. I say, $10 a share is about as high as I could see this stock at the end of the year because of its debt and it still has other products that are pending patents and are in trials.
